My Approach to Helping
Are you tired of trying to hold it together? Then I invite you to a safe place of hard-work, tears, growth and most importantly healing. As you know, we can't change the difficult situations of our past, but we can work together so that you can have an understanding of why you have been struggling. Together we can address your mood disorder and can unearth the long standing negative perceptions that have been holding you back. Although we can not erase painful memories, I can assist you in changing your emotional response to the event(s), and find resolution, so that you can begin to live a more fulfilling life.
There are a number of therapeutic approaches to use - CBT, DBT, ACT, RBT, Humanistic, and Positive Therapy, etc. But I can not tell you definitively which one(s) we will use, because there is not one approach, that fits all. Your unique challenges will determine that.
As for me, I have been working in psychotherapy for the past 24 years and I truly love the field. This has afforded me the ability to work in every venue possible and learn something new every day. I am well-educated and versed in mood disorders (Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar, Grief and Loss, PTSD), and hold additional certified specializations in Trauma and Resolution, Addictions and Recovery, and Life ChangesChallenges, along with years of experience.
