My Approach to Helping
My approach is to draw from a diverse number of proven therapy techniques which may vary from individual to individual and from session to session. Everyone responds differently to counseling, so I attempt to use the best technique for each individual/family/couple. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy are all relatively short term therapies that can help you develop new strategies for tackling your particular problem whether that be grief, depression, anxiety, stress or any other emotional problems that may be making it difficult for you to be living your life to the fullest. I believe in self-care and self-compassion and encourage the use of meditation and mindfulness on a daily basis. Mindfulness alone can help relieve anxiety and give you a sense of calm in your life even when things are not 100% going the way you want them to. Life can still be fun and enjoyable even though it may never be "perfect".
