Hi, I'm Katie. I'm a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and Board Certified Art Therapist (ATR-BC). More specifically I am someone who sparks positive change and promotes mental health and wellness during the reproductive journey.
As a certified perinatal mental health professional, I help individuals who want to feel fulfilled and connected with their loved ones, but feel stuck in their pain related to the pregnancy andor postpartum period. Many of my clients start out feeling overwhelmed, hopeless, and even like "a shell of a person." With an empowering and integrative therapeutic approach, I provide tools and strategies to help my clients manage stress, overcome challenges including feelings of shame and guilt, and find the confidence needed to feel in control of their lives again. Most importantly, I provide a compassionate space where clients can process difficult feelings, trauma, and loss without judgement or time limitations.
Some of my top values include prevention, awareness, education, and (most importantly) choice. There are a lot of stress provoking decisions to make during pregnancy and parenthood, ie. breastfeeding vs. formula feeding, stopping or continuing medication, birth and aftercare plans... I'm not here to tell my clients what's best for them or judge their choices. My goal is to provide my clients with current, evidence-based practices that help them select the choices that are best for them.
