My Approach to Helping

Patients come to me when they have hit speed bumps in their lives - in their careers and relationships - where previous ways of behaving and thinking to manage feelings no longer work to their satisfaction. Typically, I work with people who may seem to others as prosperous relationally and successful occupationally, but experience themselves to be demoralized or inexplicably anxious, behaving in atypical ways, and often not thinking as clearly as they would like.

I am a clinical psychologist, who believes that psychotherapy and psychoanalysis is an art that cannot not be informed by science. Accordingly, my work is theoretically driven, empirically based, and focuses on building a rich, collaborative, goal-oriented, and productive relationship with my patients.
