My Approach to Helping
I am a social worker with training in treating addictions, personality disorder, attachment, and trauma. Prior to becoming a registered clinical social work intern, I worked as an advocate specialist at a nonprofit facility known for its clinical excellence in victim services, treating addictions, behavioral disorders, disability rights, and focusing on various underlying traumas and often complex emotional issues. I strongly believe that our experiences shape our perspectives and influence how we move through our lives. Every individual is unique. While being impacted by social, cultural, economic, and spiritual experiences, I acknowledge that within each person lies inherent strengths to draw from towards healing and growth.
My goal is to help each person discover and build upon those strengths in a safe environment, establishing a collaborative relationship with which we can work together through a tailored, integrated approach. I am honest and non-enabling in my approach as a social worker. In addition, I honor and understand the importance of validation and continually work to be kind, nonjudgmental, and compassionate. I begin each new relationship by inviting individuals to tell me their story. I honor and respect the courage it takes to be vulnerable and open. I treat my clients as equal partners in the process of healing. I encourage you to reach out for a free phone consultation to initiate a conversation about how I can help you, your family and children.
