I have been a therapist for 27 years and in my early years had very extensive training in family systems therapy. Over the years, I have incorporated mindfulness practices into my work. I help my clients to step out of theories and stories and to attend deeply in present time to their own immediate, personal experience. Through this practice, clients are able to listen deeply to themselves, to appreciate the wisdom of their historical patterns, to let go of criticism, shame and blame, and to reconnect with their own internal goodness and personal resources. Clients then spontaneously discover new internal guidance and clarity along with renewed creativity and humor, all of which support more skillful action toward the change that is needed.
