My Approach to Helping

Whether you are facing difficulties in an intimate relationship or are facing a challenging life situation, I can assist you in gaining clarity, balance and reconnecting with the joy in life and relationships.

My approach in both couples and individual therapy is to help clients learn how to connect in a healing, non-judgmental way to what is happening in the present moment. Learning how to be compassionate towards yourself and others during stressful and challenging times is the key to finding balance and peace in life.

As a Certified Imago Relationship Therapist I have experience helping couples learn to transform their relationship from destructive and hurtful to a place of healing and growth. All relationships have the potential to be healthy, supportive and intimate, however there are times when we need the support and guidance of a third party to learn a new way of connecting. This is where I can be of help. During an Imago session I help couples learn how to soften defensive behaviors such as criticism, sarcasm and stonewalling and learn how to listen and connect through understanding, empathy and support. Using structured exercises I guide couples on how they can develop a more intimate, supportive and loving relationship. I am passionate and committed towards helping couples and individuals build on their strengths and learn to create healthy balanced and empowered life.

I also provide experiential workshops for couples and individuals where I teach the art of communication, compassion, curiosity and connection. In the workshops couples learn to approach conflict in a different way and connect with each other through listening to understand and learning how to have empathy towards each other; this helps couples to develop and sustain loving, supportive and healthy relationship. I run 1 day Retreat's for Women incorporating gentle yoga, mindfulness meditation, self compassion activities and experiential exercises to help participants strengthen assertiveness skills, set boundaries and develop self carerelaxation rituals.

I believe that providing a compassionate, non-judgmental approach is what helps empower menwomen, couples and teens to create a balanced and joyful life!

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

In my experience clients contacting a therapist are seeking relief from the pain and challenging situations they are going through. As a therapist, I've helpedhelp clients deal with many different life challenges; healing relationships after an affair, learning how to communicate in ways that help you open your heart to each other, soften defenses and create a joyful intimate relationship, codependency issues, depression, anxiety, abuse and trauma. I help clients to learn how to connect with what is going on in their lives in a way that fosters healing and growth; by letting go of judgment and learning to be compassionate, open, and mindful clients can learn to heal and transform their lives.

How Psychotherapy Can Help

Psychotherapy is about support, guidance, healing and transformation. At one time or another we all are face challenging situations, events that can bring up feelings of helplessness. This can be overwhelming, stressful and impact your emotional, physical and mental well-being. Having the support of a therapist to help you go through these experiences in a way that leads to personal growth and healthy changes is important. A therapist can help you develop healthy relationships, restore emotional wellness and live a balanced and joyful life.
