Description

This group is designed as a space where you can come together with others who have experienced religious trauma or spiritual abuse and find a supportive community to process experiences and discover new ways to heal and recover from the harm that was experienced. As a therapist with my own lived experience of religious trauma, it is my desire to create this space of support as you move through the challenges and complexities of this journey. Community-based healing and support can help us feel less lonely and isolated in our experiences. A broad spectrum of emotions, as well as major life and relationship changes, can result from this type of complex trauma. Coming together with others who share similar experiences can make a meaningful difference in not only surviving but also learning to thrive after religious traumas and harmful experiences. Sessions will combine open and guided discussions, psychoeducation, coping tools, and reflective activities to help participants build comfort, safety, and resilience, normalize their emotions, and discover pathways to personal growth and peace.
