My Approach to Helping
Congratulations on taking an important step in your journey towards change and healing. Seeking a therapist is a difficult step, and it takes great strength to prioritize your mental health. If you find yourself struggling with depression, anxiety, grief and loss, fertility difficulty, postpartum depression or anxiety, relationship challenges, or trauma, then I would welcome the privilege of working together towards healing. As a therapist, I meet my clients with an abundance of empathy and compassion, and work to join them in their journey. I recognize the importance of honoring clients' identities and stories in non-pathologizing way. It is a privilege for me to work with clients on their journey toward healing and to consider the many intricate identities that make up an individual from systemic lens.
Together we can begin to explore hurts and traumas that have caused current distress and pain. We will spend some time creating safety, security, and connection so you can feel comfortable being open and vulnerable. You and I will work to understand how difficult emotions, beliefs, and relationships have impacted you. We can explore how traumas of the past or present have shaped how you view yourself and others. Additionally, we can see how interactions with others have impacted you and even how your attachment strategy has played a vital role in your own development. Together we can explore your cycle of depression or anxiety and how it impacts you and work to establish goals to help alleviate the level of distress you experience.
When working with couples, we create an open and non-judgmental space so you and your partner can be heard, accepted, and seen. Together we will explore communication patterns that have led to the stressful and painful dynamics, as well as the stuck points you are experiencing within your relationship.
My therapeutic approach is rooted in attachment therapy. Additionally, I integrate other evidenced based therapies such as: Emotionally Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy, etc. I utilize various therapy interventions based what you need and what would be most effective and supportive to benefit you and your family.
Whatever the problem may be, I hope you can find a safe place with me to process the pains and struggles of life that you may not feel comfortable talking about with other people.
