My Approach to Helping
I enjoy working with clients looking for a unique and personalized approach to therapy. While I am well versed in traditional approaches, I also specialize in animal assisted therapy, art therapy, and play therapy. These tools allow me to tailor my therapeutic approach to the individual and take an integrative approach to counseling. Everyone is different, and it is important that we find an approach that is a good fit for you.
Sharing your deepest and most personal hardships with someone is a huge investment of trust. I strive to create a safe, welcoming environment that allows my clients to work through their challenges. It is extremely rewarding to see my clients become healthier, happier versions of themselves.
My primary areas of focus are depression, anxiety, grief, self-harm, addiction, and trauma (PTSD, sexual abuse/assault, domestic violence, etc.) I frequently use rational emotive behavioral therapy (REBT) to work through the emotional and cognitive parts of the challenges they face.
