My Approach to Helping
I believe in an integrative approach to therapy involving discussion of goals with each person, rather than a one-size-fits-all model. I have training in EMDR, DBT, TFCBT, working primarily from a person-centered approach.

Why “Spero”
The inspiration for the name “Spero Counseling Services” arose as I reflected about my reason for entering into this profession. When considering the core principles to build my practice around, as well as the key ingredient for success in counseling, I repeatedly returned to the word “hope.” The Latin translation for “hope” is “spero,” which is the purpose for my work and what draws so many to seek out counseling.
In my practice, I offer support to individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, and difficulty adjusting to the various challenges that life throws our way. I work with each individual to address his or her own goals. This could consist of bolstering self-esteem, identifying and expressing emotions, confronting common thinking errors, processing a trauma, or practicing coping skills.
While I provide to a wide array of clients, I have specialized training in working with children with a history of physical and sexual abuse.
I also work with couples looking to grow in their relationships by identifying unhelpful relationship patterns, creating opportunities for empathy and attunement, and facilitating correctional experiences.
There are few investments one can make more vital than in his or her mental health or in their relationships. Feel free to reach out for a free consultation or with any questions.
