My Approach to Helping
In my quest to provide truly transformational care, I offer individualized, wellness-oriented, trauma-informed and holistic modalities. I see you as whole and resourced, smart and aware, in need of temporary support as you expand the base of your healing process.
I like to go deep into heart-centered inquiry, to foster self-care, compassion and integration of past experiences.
We will likely integrate somatic and emotional (bodymind) approaches - to go beyond the talk-only approach.
I am committed to finding the shortest route to your fullest experience of wellbeing. In service of this goal, I will offer my diverse knowledge of health and healing, trauma recovery, mindfulness practices, hypnotherapy, guided visualizations and inner dialogues, education and how to support your nervous system’s response to stress, in collaboration with intuitive guidance that arises as I attune to your needs.
If you’re looking for care that is innovative and yet informed by neuroscience, heart-centered and strengths-based, do send me a message so we can set up a free consult about working together. It would be an honor to meet you.

Important Factors for Choosing a Therapist
In order for therapy or coaching to bring out the best possible outcomes, it's important that you feel heard, understood, and respected. Research has shown that the degree of "fit" between you and your coach or therapist is the single greatest predictor of success.
Feel free to check out several clinicians until you've found one who you feel most at ease with. You'll know you've found your right fit if you feel safe enough to cry, if you feel deeply cared about, and a sense that you can trust that this person is on your side.
The hard work of self-transformation is not meant to happen in a vacuum. We all need support at various times in our lives and your coach or therapist is no exception. Feel free to ask if your prospective professional has undertaken therapy or coaching for their own growth. And find out what we do to keep ourselves open, present, healthy and vibrant, so that you can rest assured you're not the 30th person seen in a week by a professional who's on the verge of burn-out!
This process is collaborative, so share what you are looking for and ask questions - during your free meet and greet or before your first session. We are working WITH you and FOR you. Trust you gut and heart when choosing.
How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist
I used to struggle with anxiety, shame and grief as a child, teen, and young adult. I drove myself to excel in whatever I was doing. I became depressed when I contracted a severe case of mono at 16 and had a protracted recovery. I, too, am energetically aware and sensitive and had to learn how to manage that so I don't absorb or express others' emotions.
I turned inward, learning to meditate in my teens, and studied the mind-body connection as a serious athlete in high school and college.
I've studied and practiced various healing arts to learn how energy can be directed mentally, with intention, and physically, to assist in recovery and spiritual awareness. I've turned my sensitivity into a strength that helps me attune deeply to the people who choose to work with me.
Having tamed my inner perfectionist, and replaced her with compassionate self-care, I can help others who struggle with this challenge.
I've learned that being positive can cause a delay in healing and so am careful to spot attempts to override the negative emotions and help clients make peace with all their emotions, and improve their ability to acknowledge, feel, and release so-called negative states.
