My Approach to Helping
I have created effective skills in my two decades of helping people who are at a turning point in their lives. I specialize in working with adults, adolescents, and substance use. I have honed both psychological and spiritual skills that can become the foundation for healing.
My counseling style is psychodynamic, meaning I listen for current patterns in your life that connect to your earliest developmental experiences. This approach is trauma-informed and attachment-oriented and built upon my clinical experience and research working with addiction. I am neurodivergent, LGBTQ, and competent in working with gender non-conforming folks.
I am a certified yoga teacher and yoga therapist, and I find that many of the practices I have learned in over two decades of practicing help my clients with lifestyle and mindfulness coping strategies. I am also a certified Enneagram teacher, and if it serves you, our counseling can be informed by this map of self-awareness and healing. My integration of yoga, spiritual healing, and the Enneagram are tools we might work with in conjunction with the counseling relationship we build together.
Clients tell me that I am both supportive and directive, in-depth and fun, analytical and creative. I have examined my own privilege and culture and invite continual conversations about how this shows up in your community and mental health. Ultimately, I am here to support your emotional, mental, and spiritual wellness.
