My Approach to Helping
I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with a Doctor of Ministry in Advanced Studies in Psychotherapy and Counseling. I received my doctorate degree from Chicago Theological Seminary, along with an Advanced Certificate in Self-Psychology from the Center for Religion and Psychotherapy of Chicago. My doctoral research examined an integrative approach to mental health in religious contexts and ways to incorporate psychology and religion/spirituality. I have worked in various settings, including community mental health, a psychiatric residential treatment facility, and private practice. In therapy, I believe in meeting my clients where they are and utilizing various treatment modalities, such as client-centered, cognitive behavioral, psychodynamic, dialectical behavioral, and solution-focused therapies. My goal is to build a strong therapeutic relationship and empower my clients to discover their inner strengths, as they overcome life’s challenges and journey through the process of healing and wholeness.
