My Approach to Helping
My name is Duane Cordiner, and I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC). I am trained in solution focused brief therapy (SFBT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), as well as good ol’ talk therapy. I have experience working with adolescents, adults, couples, and families in the areas of anxiety, depression, PTSD, bipolar, grief, loss, relationship issues, as well as other general mental health concerns.
My philosophy is that the client is the expert of their own life. As such, I believe in bringing a collaborative/person-centered approach to building a valuable and meaningful therapeutic relationship with all of my clients. I consider myself to be a great listener who is focused on providing a respectful and safe space for the exploration, identification, and planning process; to address individual, couples, and/or familial needs.
At Perceptions Mental Health, the understanding is that life can be extremely challenging and present with difficult situations for all. As a result, we may lose sight of the options available for improving our lives. After all, navigating life can be tough; change is constant, and we can become “stuck” from time to time. Additionally, dealing with the emotional impacts of mental health disorder can skew our perceptions about self, others, and the world. However, there is hope, healing, and freedom. Perceptions Mental Health is here to help. It only takes one call or email, make today your day. Free 15-minute consultations.
