My approach in therapy is collaborative, supportive, and goal oriented.
Beginning therapy can feel like a big step, whether you’re looking for support right now or navigating an upcoming transition. My goal is to create a space that feels warm, welcoming, and genuinely safe for you to show up as you are. In our work together, we’ll focus on helping you better understand yourself and make changes that feel realistic and sustainable. Sessions may include both reflection and practical steps forward, depending on what feels most helpful to you. I recognize that societal systems, bias, and discrimination can have a real impact on mental health, relationships, and sense of self. As a queer-identifying therapist, I offer gender-affirming, celebratory care and work closely with individuals from marginalized communities. I often support clients navigating identity, relationships, anxiety, depression, and life transitions. Together, we’ll work toward helping you feel more grounded, more confident, and better able to move through challenges with clarity. I have experience supporting both individuals and couples as they move through periods of change and uncertainty. Over time, clients often find they feel more connected to themselves, more secure in their decisions, and better able to handle what life brings. If you’re considering therapy, you don’t need to have everything figured out to reach out. Reaching out doesn’t commit you to anything. It’s simply a chance to see if this feels like a good fit.
I specialize in helping individuals overcome gambling problems, alcohol use, substance use, and the emotional challenges that often accompany them, including anxiety, depression, stress, shame, and relationship difficulties. My approach to therapy is practical, supportive, and focused on helping you create meaningful and lasting change. Drawing from evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing, and relapse prevention, I help clients understand the patterns that keep them stuck, strengthen their motivation for change, and develop healthier ways of coping with life's challenges. I believe that for therapy to be effective, people often need to work through the obstacles that are preventing them from moving forward. In my experience, these barriers are frequently rooted in fear, shame, or pride. Whether it is fear of change, shame about past mistakes, or pride that makes it difficult to ask for help or be vulnerable, these obstacles can keep people trapped in unhealthy cycles. My goal is to work collaboratively with you to identify what is holding you back and help you develop the strength, confidence, and willingness to do the things that may feel difficult or uncomfortable. Recovery and personal growth often require stepping outside of your comfort zone, but you do not have to do it alone. I provide a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where you can gain insight, build practical skills, and take meaningful action toward a healthier, more fulfilling, and purpose-driven life.
I use an insightful and personalized approach to help clients identify barriers to happiness and gain a better understanding of their emotions and experiences. Knowing yourself deeply is an essential ingredient in creating the life you want, and this type of emotional learning ideally occurs within the context of a non-judgmental therapeutic relationship. My goal is to help clients explore behavioral patterns and achieve psychological well-being. My approach focuses on helping clients with a range of issues such as grief, depression, anxiety, interpersonal conflict, and anger management. I provide clients with the emotional self-regulation tools, coping and communication skills, mindfulness techniques, and self-management strategies needed to cultivate change.
Many young individuals who, despite their education and resources, feel anxious, stymied, and frustrated. I have deep experience working with young professionals who are struggling with workplace anxiety, difficult relationships, and an overall sense of unease and unhappiness. Through self-discovery and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, you will learn the tools and techniques to unburden yourself from emotional distress. It’s time that you learn how to acknowledge, appreciate, and harness your everyday emotions.
I collaborate with arts and helping professionals on a variety of issues, including: finding your voice in negotiation and relationships, getting creative projects and careers off the ground, identifying what's working in your life--and what's not--and how to change things for the better. I also work with issues around bereavement and loss. My training and approach combines psychodynamic, mindbody and mindfulness aspects. I have expertise in stress management (how to handle the present), trauma recovery (how to integrate the past) and creative breakthroughs and empowerment (how to build a future). When appropriate, I use EMDR, a proven method of symptom relief from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD); meditation and breathing exercises and other techniques. Equally if not more important is how we fit together as a working team. I invite you to consult with me for one or two sessions and see if you'd like to work with me.
My approach to therapy is client-specific, empathetic, and nurturing. Life gives all of us challenges, but our experiences are not all the same. I take the time to identify my clients’ strengths and help them learn to leverage those in their daily lives through mindfulness, practice, and repetition. As a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in New Jersey, I’m here to support you with care and understanding.

I am currently taking new patients who are experiencing problems with work, school and/or relationships that are due to obsessive and problematic usage of internet/computer/video games. Depression and anxiety are often associated with excessive use of these interactive technologies. Within the past seven years, I have seen a significant rise in my practice in people who have experienced major difficulties that have been rooted in spending too much time online, or excessively involved in one or more forms of interactive technology (i.e., computer/video games). For some, it has to do with excessive internet surfing. For others, it may involve multi-user online games (e.g., World of Warcraft, Call of Duty). A growing number of people have reported spending ("wasting") hours upon hours on blogs, watching Youtube vidoes, and on Facebook, Tumblr, and other social networking sites.
You may look successful, capable, and composed on the outside—yet privately feel anxious, self-doubting, or like an imposter. Many of the people I work with are outwardly high-functioning but internally feel stuck, disconnected, or quietly struggling. I work collaboratively as a co-pilot in the therapeutic process, helping you understand and shift long-standing emotional and relational patterns that quietly interfere with your work, relationships, and self-care. Painful or unmet experiences—past and present—often repeat themselves until they are understood. Therapy offers a place to slow these patterns down, make sense of them, and loosen their grip. My goal is to help you move beyond chronic self-criticism, emotional isolation, or feeling “not enough,” and toward greater self-trust, emotional resilience, and a more connected, fulfilling life. In addition to individual therapy, I am an experienced group psychotherapist. For over 30 years, I have worked with college-aged young adults and adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma (past and present), self-neglect, and self-sabotage. My areas of specialization include weight regulation and eating disorders, emotional fall out of GLP1’s women’s health concerns, and relationship and couples issues. Reaching out doesn’t commit you to therapy—it starts a conversation. Choosing the right therapist matters, and we’ll take time to see if this feels like the right fit.
