Overview of Yoga Therapy: “Yoga is a wonderful tool, with which you can take a look inside yourself and then reach out for help and correct all the flaws that you see. It is important that you have a very good 'guru' (teacher) when you go into yoga therapy because you will need to be guided well when you start the journey. If the beginning of the trip is good, then the rest will be successful. Yoga therapy is what will meet you right where you are, then take hold of your hand, and lead you out in the light. In the meantime, you will find that you are climbing definite steps towards a clearer mind, lighter body and an overall well-being feeling that you cannot explain to yourself. This is the power of yoga.” ~ Excerpt from Yoga 4 Beginners

“Many have since used yoga for managing high blood pressure, coping with the effects of cancer treatments, or treating symptoms of HIV, depression or anxiety. But lately it’s become especially popular for musculoskeletal issues like lower and upper back pain, sciatica, and shoulder, neck and hip pain. Physical therapists use many methods, from targeted stretches to deep tissue massage; exercises with a Theraband, foam noodles, belts, physioballs, bobbleboards, Bosu Balls, or a wall; and heat and/or ice therapy at home. After a physical therapy session, you'll usually leave with a photocopied sheet of exercises.” ~ Excerpt from GAIAM Life
