Do you feel overwhelmed, irritable, depressed, or anxious? Do you feel unable to get up, paralyzed by the heaviness of life? Do you struggle in your relationships or wonder what happened to the happy couple you used to be? Are you worried about your children's behavior or happiness?
You don't have to walk the road to recovery alone, and you're not stuck solving your problems alone, either. I offer individual therapy in a safe space where you can explore your feelings and come up with a strategy to turn it around. I'll help you with trauma, abuse, loss, anger, anxiety, work issues, and depression. First we'll set goals, and then we'll develop a plan to help you achieve them. Insight may be important, but it's not enough on its own. Change requires that you do things differently. You deserve the skills you need to make meaningful changes. Take advantage of my years of wisdom and caring. I offer cognitive-behavioral therapy that can help you get your life back!

More Info About My Practice
Children and adolescents have very specific needs; it's very important to choose someone with specific expertise in this area. Whether the problems are academic, emotional, social, or behavioral, I'll get to the root of the problem. The process begins with getting a correct diagnosis. From there, I'll roll up my sleeves and get to work. I've always had good relationships with teens and kids, and they report feeling accepted and relaxed in my office.
Relationships among families and between couples can be challenging to manage, but they offer an important path to happiness. Experience the relief of communicating effectively with loved ones. I rely on the pioneering work of John Gottman.
Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
In addition to the specialties listed above, I am an advocate for women. Many women are abused during childhood, adolescence, and adulthood. I help women recognize the issues that are causing painful life patterns, and give them the skills they need to recover and regain control of their lives. I find it satisfying to help people break the abuse/neglect cycle in their own lives.
How Psychotherapy Can Help
Psychotherapy helps almost everyone. Initially, just having an unbiased person listen to you will relieve stress! Then, as problems are aired and identified, patterns tend to emerge. A therapist can point these out and suggest alternatives and coping skills.
Important Factors for Choosing a Therapist
RATES and INSURANCES
I accept all major insurance plans. Some are listed below, but if your plan is not listed, please call to inquire, as I may be on it. I also am a provider on most Employee Assistance Programs (EAP). This is a benefit that employers offer to their employees. If you think your company offers EAP sessions, ask your human resources department how to access that, because that will give you several free sessions!
BlueCross and/or BlueShield
If you are uninsured, my cash rate is $100 per session.
Cash, checks, and credit cards are accepted.
TRICARE Patients: If this is your secondary insurance it will pay normally. If it is your primary insurance, it will pay only as an "out of net" provider, so your copay may be higher.
