My Approach to Helping

The core underlying belief that guides my practice is that you are the best expert on your life. My role is to co-create a safe environment in which options and choices may be identified and honored such that your inner wisdom is allowed to find its way to the surface and make itself known. Much of my experience and expertise comes from working with survivors of varying types of trauma. As trauma is such a profoundly disembodying experience, I am often paying close attention to the mind-body connection during our time together. I seek to work with you to gradually enlist the body in small steps as a guide and partner on the pathway to a new balance point that yields greater thriving.

Additionally, I deeply respect the creative process and strive to listen to your story from the lense of the parts of you that may be oppressed and silenced. As we, together, validate external oppressions (name them and see them more clearly) and decrease internal ones (take new steps towards self-compassion and self-love), more energy is freed up to help you become a more active participant in and creator of the life you choose on a day-to-day basis.
