My Approach to Helping
Contacting a therapist often feels like a huge leap. Once you take that leap, I provide a safe and supportive space in which I listen to your unique story and together we come to understand when you feel overwhelmed and stuck, as well as excited and motivated. I offer my observations and challenge your ways of thinking that limit you, while also encouraging you to honor your inner wisdom. The goal is for you to experience greater self-awareness, confidence, and joy so you can make choices that enable you to move forward in health and balance.
My additional training and work as a childbirth educator and labor doula give me a unique perspective in helping women and couples deal with challenges related to pregnancy, postpartum, and parenting, including depression and anxiety. I also help women explore issues at other transitional life stages, including self-esteem, self-confidence, anxiety, depression, education and career choices, and relationship difficulties.
Having many years of experience working with teenagers and supervising therapists doing the same, I welcome teens into my practice and help them navigate this often turbulent stage of life. Parents are included in the process when appropriate.
More Info About My Practice
I believe that therapy should be accessible to anyone who wants it, which is why I happily offer a sliding scale of fees. I also provide a monthly receipt that is suitable for submitting a claim for out-of-network behavioral health insurance coverage or a flexible spending account through employment.
