We offer medication management, therapy, or both depending on what you need. Led by a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP), we provide what most practices can't: comprehensive psychiatric support under one roof from someone who sees the whole picture. No bouncing between providers. No repeating your history. No gaps in your care. Our approach is simple: we listen first. A successful treatment plan requires a true understanding of your history, your goals, and what hasn't worked before—so we can build a plan that actually moves you forward.

Accepting new clients remotely and in person. I've practiced psychotherapy for over 40 years, and during most of that time also taught psychiatric residents at Johns Hopkins Medical School. My areas of specialization are bipolar type 2 and borderline personality condition. I've also worked with many entrepreneurs since the publication of my book, The Hypomanic Edge: The Link Between (a Little) Craziness and (a Lot of) Success in America. What's different about me is that after receiving traditional training, I've integrated it with meditation. Mindfulness, especially when combined with therapy, provides calm, objective self-awareness that leads to self-control, which may lessen the need for medication. More meditation can mean less medication. More recently, I'm working with research subjects who have undergone psilocybin therapy for a book, "The Cosmic Consciousness Cure." Affecting the same brain areas as meditation, psilocybin therapy produces a quantum leap in mindfulness. I'd be happy to speak with anyone seeking legal psilocybin treatment. I can't provide it, but it is now legally available in Oregon, and I would be happy to work with clients on integrating that experience.

I help individuals and couples navigate anxiety, grief, and relationship conflict with compassion, clarity, and direction. My approach to therapy is largely cognitivebehavioral, with a strong emphasis on acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) techniques, specifically learning to be mindful- noticing and accept your thoughts, feelings and physical sensations- while committing to behavior that is consistent with your own values. My experiences both in and out of the work setting are fairly broad so I feel I can address most issues clients present with. My style is engaging and supportive. I view our relationship as a partnership. I will spend the majority of our first sessions together listening to get to know you better. I believe that everything in our lives is interrelated, so at times I may let our focus move to whatever is particularly troubling to you that day. At other times, I may focus you back on the current problem we are trying to solve. I am married with two children and have had two career changes. I have experienced a wide variety of life stressors and have sought help when needed. I believe that these experiences have provided me with empathy, perspective and coping skills that I can use to help you.
You’re the strong one, the one others rely on, pushing through everything. You’re wondering how much longer you can hold it together when it feels like your relationships, your life, are coming apart. You may feel like a failure for asking for help yourself. But you’re not willing to give up on your goals for your life and those relationships that are so important. You want to do more than just get through life. You want to get rid of the mental load you’ve been carrying and feel free to enjoy those moments in life that are really important. I get it. I’m a former paramedic and pastor, a current business owner and single mom, and a therapist. I’m happy to meet with you for a free 15-minute consult to see if we’d be a good fit for therapy. I work with clients in person or via telehealth. You can contact me here or visit our website to learn more.
I am approved EMDRIA consultant. I provide a warm, empathic environment that allows you to explore the issues that have brought you to therapy. After this exploration I work with you to gain insight to the issues whether it be feeling "stuck" in the past, suffering with depression or anxiety, or a relationship, work or college concern. With this knowledge I work collaboratively with you to see you move to a place of action, to either process old memories that are keeping you "stuck", or to learn new skills to help you move forward. . I believe there is always hope and change is possible.
I believe that the best way to help you is to listen to the changes that you would like to make, and develop a treatment plan specific to your concerns and your personality. In many cases, no one therapeutic approach fits every one or every issue, so my goal is to make a you feel comfortable and understand more about your personal journey. The decision to pursue therapy can be difficult for many people, but it indicates that you want to change or improve certain aspects of your life, creating stronger relationships, a higher level of self-confidence, more focus and direction and many other areas for improvement.
