My Approach to Helping
I help people who suffer from anxiety disorders and OCD by using Exposure Therapy, a type of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT). I use this powerful method because of the very strong evidence from research studies that it works to help people reduce their anxiety, eliminate problematic anxious behaviors, and re-engage in normal, healthy activities.
I have chosen to focus my career on doing therapy for people with anxiety and OCD. Throughout my doctoral and postdoctoral training, I sought out specialized education and experience in the treatment of anxiety and OCD and the methods most effective for these problems.
Because my training, experience, and interests are so specialized in this area, I believe I am uniquely qualified and effective for clients suffering from anxiety and OCD.

My practice is part of the larger Anxiety Solutions group, which you can learn about on my website, We are passionate about providing top-notch quality care for anxiety and OCD in areas of the country where such specialized care was not previously easy to obtain, like Reno. I trained at Anxiety Solutions in Colorado before opening my practice here. Anxiety Solutions plans on continuing to expand to similar locations where our services seem most needed.
Our mission is to help people alleviate the suffering caused by anxiety and OCD and to do this as effectively as possible for as many people as possible.
Had a Negative Therapy Experience?
Most clients who come to see us have been to therapy before and are seeking us out as a last resort because they have not found therapy helpful in the past. If you have been to therapy before for your anxiety or OCD and felt it was "just talk" or that the therapist did not give you specific direction on what to do about your anxiety, know that therapy with me will be quite different.
I use a more directive, action-based, and goal-focused style. Therapy with me will not just be talk, I can show you just what you need to DO to get relief.
