What's My Approach to Therapy?

Hi there! I'm an associate clinical social worker with over 10 years of experience working in the mental health field. I'm grateful to have had amazing opportunities to work with a variety of age groups, cultures, populations, and clinical settings over the years. I earned my bachelor's degree in psychology and my master's of social work from California State University, Long Beach. In my teen years, I was part of a peer support group in high school that initially planted the seed of working in service to others. I was also fortunate to have had many mentors who inspired me and guided me in a positive direction that allowed me to manifest my goals and potential. I'm now grateful to be in a position to help others learn, heal, grow, and do the same.

My approach to therapy is eclectic, client-centered, and also with a strong emphasis on mindfulness. I believe being able to slow down, sit with our experience, and cultivate resilience and capacity to deal with feelings and thoughts triggered by both our inner and outer world is essential for positive mental health and personal growth. I also utilize parts work, such as internal family systems and mindfulness-based stress reduction, when working with depression, anxiety, and trauma. I'm also strongly influenced by the work of Carl Jung, and his emphasis on how personal complexes relate to the collective unconscious, or more specifically to what is going on in the greater environment around us, whether that be family, career, or political life. For my work with couples, I am excited to utilize theories and techniques from emotionally focused therapy (EFT) to improve communication, understand relational dynamics, and resolve conflicts, thereby enhancing relationship satisfaction and facilitating healing.

Therapy is a journey inward — one that invites curiosity, courage, and self-compassion. As with any journey, preparation matters, and having the right tools makes all the difference. I believe that qualities such as strength, gentleness, and compassion are vital in this process. My role is to provide a safe, grounded space where you can explore, heal, and reconnect with your true, authentic self — at your own pace and in your own way. With a deep commitment to my own personal growth and journey toward self-actualization, I am equally dedicated to supporting you on your path to healing. My Practice & Services

I'm a primary therapist at Daybreak Counseling Center. At Daybreak, we work collaboratively as a team to provide effective psychotherapy, counseling, and mental health services for children, teens, adults, and couples at our offices in Long Beach and Cerritos. We also provide convenient online video-based teletherapy sessions throughout all of California that can be conducted in the comfort of your home, in accordance with your schedule. We offer a client-centered approach to every client we see. That means we treat every client we see uniquely, with the best approach that suits their needs and concerns. To do so, we draw from a wide variety of therapy modalities, whereas most other practices typically have one modality that often does not address or meet the needs of everyone coming in.

We work with a wide range of emotional and behavioral issues, providing services that span from therapy for depression and anxiety to parenting support, couples therapy, and personal growth work. In a comfortable, confidential, and supportive atmosphere, we offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each of our clients' individual needs to help them attain the personal growth they’re striving to accomplish. Call us today, and we would be happy to help you set up an appointment and answer any questions you have.
