What's My Approach to Therapy?
Specializing in Relationships, Direction, and Family Clarity
As a marriage and family therapist with over 18 years of experience, I’ve devoted my career to helping people make sense of their relationships, their choices, and their lives. Whether you’re a couple struggling in the aftermath of betrayal or a young adult feeling uncertain about the future, I offer a space that is supportive, direct, and focused on meaningful change.
Helping Couples Heal After Infidelity
One of my primary areas of specialization is affair recovery. The discovery of infidelity can be devastating—shaking the very foundation of a relationship and leaving both partners confused, overwhelmed, and unsure of what to do next. Many couples ask: Can we recover from this? Should we stay together? What happens now?
Affair recovery is a complex and emotionally demanding process, but it can also be a deeply transformative one. I work closely with couples who are navigating this painful territory—helping them unpack what happened, understand the deeper emotional patterns that may have contributed to disconnection, and rebuild trust from the ground up.
This process isn’t about “fixing” things quickly or sweeping pain under the rug. It’s about developing emotional honesty, accountability, and healthier relational habits—whether that means staying together or parting ways with clarity and integrity. I guide couples through a structured and compassionate process that gives space to both the partner who was betrayed and the partner who broke the trust, holding both people accountable while supporting repair.
Guiding Young Adults Toward Confidence and Clarity
The second area of my practice focuses on young adults who are struggling to find their path in life. These are often high-pressure years filled with internal and external questions: Who am I? What am I doing with my life? Why do I feel so stuck when everyone else seems to be moving forward?
I love working with young adults—because these years, though uncertain, are also full of possibility. Whether you’re dealing with career indecision, academic stress, family conflict, or relationship uncertainty, therapy can help you stop spinning in circles and start moving forward with purpose.
Together, we explore the beliefs, experiences, and expectations that may be shaping your current situation—and help you start making choices that are aligned with your values, goals, and identity. You don’t need to have it all figured out. You just need a space to think clearly, feel understood, and start building momentum in your life.
An Integrated Family Therapy Perspective
While these two specialties—affair recovery and young adult counseling—may seem unrelated, they both live under the umbrella of family therapy. Whether I’m working with an individual or a couple, I always consider the broader family and relational dynamics at play.
Relationships shape us—and they can wound us, or help us grow. My training in marriage and family therapy allows me to explore both the emotional and systemic elements that contribute to what you're facing now. I believe in getting to the root of the issue—not just managing surface symptoms.
In addition to my clinical work, I am dual certified in special education and educational advocacy, which gives me an added layer of insight when working with young adults who have learning differences, executive functioning challenges, or who may feel out of step in traditional systems. I often help families navigate these complexities while supporting the young adult’s autonomy and self-worth.
How I Work
Clients describe my style as warm, grounded, and honest. I am compassionate but not passive—I ask thoughtful questions, offer feedback, and help you stay focused on your goals. I use evidence-based approaches, including family systems theory, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and relational models, tailored to your unique story and needs.
Therapy with me is a place where real change happens. It’s not just about insight—it’s about growth, healing, and moving forward with clarity and confidence.
