My Approach to Helping

I am a solution-focused clinician with a successful track record helping my clients change ineffective coping strategies to overcome anxiety, depression, and a general lack of motivation or direction in life. I have helped clients stay motivated and on track with their weight loss goals and to identify self-sabotaging types of behaviors.

I help my clients set a clear vision for their future by helping them identify and develop personal, academic, or career goals that truly inspire them, followed by a personalized, step-by-step plan for achieving their goals.

I am also a licensed Special Education teacher and Educational Advocate. I help teens who are struggling in school get back on track and receive the appropriate level of school services they need to succeed. Collaboration between teachers, parents, and school support staff is crucial in addressing the unique needs of students with anxiety and attention-deficit hyperactivity (ADHD). Individualized education programs (IEPs) or 504 plans can be created to outline specific accommodations and support strategies for these students.

Family and couples counseling: I help families and couples improve communication, identify unhealthy patterns, build trust, reduce conflict, and reconnect with each other. Statistics show, that the sooner families get help, the better the chances are for a positive, successful outcome.

Please know that whatever you are struggling with I am here to help. I offer a free fifteen-minute phone consult where I can listen to your concerns and share with you my approach to the counseling process. They say "A journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step" and so I welcome your call as the first step to begin that journey.
