What's My Approach to Therapy?

You may look like you are functioning well on the outside - successful, creative, accomplished - yet inside you feel tense, blocked, emotionally exhausted, or disconnected from yourself and others. Many of the people I work with are artists, performers, writers, entrepreneurs, and professionals who have learned to push through pain, self-doubt, and relational wounds without fully resolving them. At a certain point, pushing through is no longer enough - you want to feel like yourself again.

My Practice & Services

I am Dr. Mihaela Ivan Holtz. I specialize in working with high-functioning creatives and professionals who want more than symptom management - people seeking in-depth, effective emotional work that heals at the root. For over 20 years, I have helped clients restore their capacity to feel alive, grounded, and free to create and relate authentically. My approach is depth-oriented, trauma-informed, and relational. I hold a doctorate in Clinical Psychology and am trained in contemporary psychoanalytic therapy, Certified in EMDR, and Attachment-Focused EMDR, with a strong foundation in the neuroscience of relationships and emotional regulation. Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

If you feel held back by emotional conflict, unresolved trauma, or early relational and attachment experiences. These struggles often show up as anxiety, depression, creative or performance blocks, relationship difficulties, or a persistent sense of disconnection despite outward success. I specialize in trauma-informed, depth-oriented therapy for PTSD, Complex PTSD, and attachment-based trauma, helping clients move beyond symptom management and reconnect with a more authentic, grounded, and emotionally free way of creating, performing, and relating.
