My Approach to Helping

You usually thrive on being productive, but lately you have been feeling tired all the time, anxious and unmotivated. You hope that through therapy you can get these feelings under control and are able to live your life happy again. I know exactly what you are feeling: the racing thoughts, the pounding chest, feeling like you are going to pass out, feeling tired all the time. It can be terrifying, and I don't want you to have to suffer anymore. Together we can get a handle on your problems.

We will work together to become aware of your thoughts and feelings about a problem, and how to look at those problems in different, more manageable ways. I have dozens of tools that I have been perfecting over my career helping people just like you. For the past 6 years, I have focused on helping people get rid of anxiety and feel better about themselves. I have attended trainings that teach leading edge techniques. You will gain resilience, so that you can cope with life better.

More Info About My Practice

I am a psychodynamic therapist who is engaging, encouraging and uses a strengths-based approach to therapy. My hope is to provide you with a supportive, safe space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings and develop into the person you want to be. I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectic Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and a Certified clinical trauma professional. My specialty is in emerging adult issues, college student mental health and the mental health needs of international students.

Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance

My practice philosophy is rooted in the strengths perspective and the importance of the therapeutic relationship. I hold a safe and non-judgmental space for you to share, build self-awareness and work together to change behavior, thoughts and beliefs. I strongly believe a successful therapeutic relationship is vital to enhancing your personal strengths and mobilizes for change in your life.
