What's My Approach to Therapy?

Are you feeling unhappy, distant, or experiencing a lack of intimacy in your relationship? Do you wish to recapture the romance and closeness you once shared? You will learn skills to re-establish healthy communication, connection, and affection. For individuals, I will help you better understand and effectively talk with your partner. We will review relationship-based anxiety that contributes to uncertainty and fear. I combine the Gottman method, systems theory, and mindfulness to create insight and change. Tailored exercises, self-help reading, and practical solutions will support your progress and growth.

Couples and personal counseling to improve communication, connection, and active love. Focus on sexuality, including compatibility, desire, and performance issues. Premarital counseling and online dating. Recovery from affairs. Learn skills for healthy communication with compassion and be mindful of your own behavior in relationships.

Our happiness is directly related to the quality of our relationships. I create a safe place for you to grow and thrive. Using humor and insight to facilitate change, I trained at Columbia University. I have helped hundreds of people build meaningful relationships and find the love they seek. Call or email for a complimentary 20-minute consultation to learn more.

The Duration and Frequency of Therapy

For many couples every other week therapy works well. We are usually too busy to see that much of our partner or find the time to practice some of the skills I suggest in our sessions. Most couples and individuals should see significant change in a 3-6 month period in therapy, when working with an active therapist ,who is attentive and compassionate while providing them with customized tools to help them get unstuck and live the life they desire.
