What's My Approach to Therapy?

Hi there! I’m Dr. Maja Jakovljević, a clinical psychologist. I work with adults navigating a wide range of emotional and psychological concerns. My background includes specialized training and extensive experience in evidence-based treatments. Most of my career has been dedicated to working with active-duty military personnel and veterans, focusing on the treatment of trauma, depression, anxiety, and related concerns.

I believe that meaningful, effective psychotherapy is personalized — there’s no one-size-fits-all path to healing. My approach is integrative and individualized, tailored to your unique needs, goals, and circumstances. We’ll work together to understand what’s getting in the way, clarify what’s most important to you, and build practical tools to help you move forward.

Central to my work is the belief that a strong psychotherapeutic relationship is the foundation for meaningful, lasting change. My style is compassionately direct, collaborative, and warm — creating a space where you can feel understood, supported, and empowered to grow.

Starting psychotherapy is a brave and personal decision, and I honor the courage it takes to reach out for support. You don’t need to have all the answers — just a willingness to take the first step.
