My Approach to Helping

You are valuable, and your life matters. No matter how you've been hurt, the ability to heal is within you, and I want to partner with you in tapping into your resilience and strength. Maybe you feel like you've tried everything to grow, but barriers, like feeling disconnected from your true self, self-deprecating thoughts, trouble sleeping, anger, or pushing people away, are keeping you stuck. I would love to be a part of your journey in getting unstuck and back to living your best life.
My approach is from a trauma-sensitive and attachment-informed lens, meaning I explore how events from the past are playing a role in current issues, emphasizing safety and connection. As an EMDR therapist, I have 2 years of experience seeing my clients overcoming their past and stepping into their future.

My main areas of focus in my work with individuals are trauma and anxiety, specifically involving various forms of abuse or mistreatment by others. I work with individuals of all ages using variations of similar techniques, such as art, sand tray, music, movement, and journaling. I have received and continue to receive training/consultation on Parts Psychology, the use of EMDR for parts and racial and generational trauma, parent-child interactions, healing attachment wounds, sand tray, and overcoming sexual shame.

Groups I Work With

I work with people ages 5 and up! In my sessions with the little ones, I utilize art and sand tray in facilitating emotional expression and processing. I have worked with children who are struggling with night-time anxiety, insomnia, social anxiety, behavioral issues at school, inattentivenesshyperactivity, academicschool anxiety, and anger. I have gotten testimonials from parents and educators that my clients are able to sleep through the night on their own, manage and express their anger in healthy ways, and face their fears at school and in extra-curricular activities.
When I work with adolescents and teens, I sometimes incorporate music and art into conversations to break through any walls or barriers they might have toward the therapeutic process. I have seen quick turn-arounds with teens struggling with anxiety and depression starting to enjoy their lives again and engage with their peers. When working with children and teens, the more involved the parents and family members are in therapy, the better the outcome of therapy will be for the children, so I also encourage infrequent family sessions in addition to individual sessions.

The adult individuals I work with have struggled with anxiety, flashbacks or nightmares, self-loathing thoughts, feeling disconnected from others, and generally discontent with their lives. People who experienced emotional, verbal, physical, or sexual abuse in their childhood or adulthood often experience these lingering effects years after the abuse has stopped. I work with people to identify past events that are keeping them stuck and process through those events, neutralizing the emotional and physical effects of those traumatic events on the individual. Through this process, I have seen countless people overcome the wrongs exerted against them and re-discover their true identity and purpose in life.
