My Approach to Helping
Opening up and allowing ourselves to be vulnerable can be difficult and scary at times. It is so important in therapy to feel safe and to trust your therapist. My approach to helping is based on meeting you where you are at and setting attainable goals. It is important to build trust by being open and honest with each other in order to build a strong working relationship. During therapy sessions I believe the best results are achieved when you are able to set your own goals and work towards them. My goal is to help those I work with gain the tools necessary to cope with emotions, life's everyday stressors, and learn to communicate in a more effective way. During sessions you will be provided with the tools necessary to cope with stressors both inside and outside of sessions. At times you may find sessions to be challenging but my ultimate goal and hope is that you walk out of each session feeling a little "lighter" and more equipped to cope than when you walked in.
