My Approach to Helping
Making the decision and taking the steps to start therapy is an act of bravery. In doing so, you are deciding that now is the time to heal, grow or move out of current patterns or behaviors that no longer serve you. You may feel unfulfilled or stuck and want to walk in your purpose or feel more joy in life. You may be feeling alone and need support as you work through issues in your life.
I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and proud graduate of Georgia State University (Bachelor of Social Work) and The University of Georgia where I received my Master of Social Work degree. I work with individuals, couples, and families. I have worked with diverse patient populations and with clients experiencing difficult life circumstances. My area of expertise is griefloss. I have worked with clients living with cancer for ten years.
I provide a safe, nonjudgmental space for clients to explore and discuss their current challenges and concerns. I practice using a person centered approach and use cognitive behavioral and motivational interviewing techniques often in sessions with clients. Your sessions will be tailor made to you based on your current situation, needs and goals for therapy. I believe that in addition to exploring challenges, it is important to support and empower clients. I believe that even in the most difficult times in life, there are opportunities to grow and heal. I hope you believe it is possible for you. I look forward to hearing from you.
