My Approach to Helping
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 15 years of clinical experience working in the school system, for a significant mental health agency, and in private practice. I have a passion for helping women and girls understand their incredible value and worth and supporting those who feel anxious, stressed, weary, weighed down, and running on empty. Additionally, I enjoy helping parents identify simple, intentional changes that can help them build strong, positive relationships with their children and increase peace within their family. I also love walking alongside clients who find themselves in a place of spiritual questioning or who would like to explore issues of faith.
My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and relational. I begin by listening and asking questions to make sure I understand what my clients hope to gain through treatment and then work with them to develop a clear path toward meeting their goals. I always want my clients to feel supported in responding to new challenges from week to week and confident that they are steadily moving toward their larger goals.
I know how hard it can be to take the first step and reach out for help, and there can often be a temptation to talk yourself out of it for any number of reasons. But the truth is, taking care of your mental health is just good self-care. Whether you choose me or someone else (and I would be honored if you chose me), I would love to encourage you to see this process through. You are worth it!
