What's My Approach to Therapy?

If you’ve found yourself here, chances are you’re tired—not just physically, but emotionally. You’ve been holding it together for so long, trying to keep moving forward even when life feels heavier than it should. Maybe you’re struggling with the weight of past trauma, relationship challenges that keep repeating, or the pressure of school, work, or illness that leaves you feeling lost or disconnected from yourself. Whatever brings you here, please know you don’t have to carry it alone anymore.

In our work together, therapy becomes your space to breathe again. My approach is warm, grounded, and collaborative. I don’t believe in quick fixes or surface-level advice. Instead, I’ll meet you where you are without judgment or pretense, and help you uncover the patterns, beliefs, and emotions that are keeping you stuck. I’ll help you recognize the strengths you already have, and together, we’ll build new tools to help you feel more balanced, empowered, and at peace with yourself.

You’ll find that sessions with me are structured, but never rigid. There’s room for reflection, laughter, and even quiet moments, because sometimes silence gives space for healing, too. I listen to understand, not just to respond. I’ll guide you through practical techniques to manage stress and emotional pain, and when you’re ready, we’ll go deeper, exploring the “why” behind what you’re feeling so you can begin to truly heal rather than just cope.

I use evidence-based approaches such as eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and cognitive processing therapy (CPT) to help you process painful experiences, change unhelpful thought patterns, and reconnect with your inner strength. But beyond methods and theories, what makes therapy with me unique is the relationship we’ll build. My clients often tell me that they feel genuinely seen and understood, sometimes for the first time in their lives. I believe trust and consistency are the foundation of healing, and I take that responsibility to heart.

If we work together, you can expect compassion, honesty, and partnership. I’ll advocate for you when you’ve forgotten how to advocate for yourself. I’ll help you learn self-care that goes deeper than bubble baths and breaks—care that restores your mind, body, and spirit. And slowly, you’ll begin to feel lighter, clearer, and more capable of creating the life you want to live.

You don’t have to be “fixed.” You just need space to heal and someone to help you find your way there. If you’re ready to begin that journey, I’d be honored to walk beside you.

Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed

I want you to know that going to therapy doesn?t mean you?re weak ? it means you?re human. It means you?ve been trying to hold it all together, and somewhere inside, you know it?s time to stop carrying it alone. That takes strength.

Therapy isn?t about ?fixing? you, because you are not broken. It?s about finding your voice again, giving space to the parts of you that have been silenced, and learning new ways to navigate life when it feels heavy or uncertain. Sometimes, the bravest thing you can do is simply say, ?I need help.?

When you choose to come to therapy, you?re not giving up ? you?re showing up. You?re choosing healing over silence, growth over fear, and self-compassion over shame. My role is to walk beside you, not to judge or label you, but to help you rediscover the strength, peace, and clarity that have always been within you.
