My Approach to Helping
You may be having mixed emotions regarding starting the counseling process. As a licensed professional counselor, I offer a confidential space where you can discuss your life experiences without judgment. I specialize in helping those who feel overwhelmed by their thoughts and emotions and need help in order to cope. I enjoy working with stress, anxiety, life transitions, and relationship issues. I also have extensive experience helping those with problematic substance or alcohol use.
My style of therapy includes examining how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are affecting you. This is called a cognitive behavioral approach as well as dialectical behavior approach which helps you understand the connection between the mind and the body. I will also help teach you new coping skills to assist you when facing challenging times.
If this sounds like what you are looking for please give me a call for a free 15 minute consultation.
*Please note that I am only providing teletherapy at this time*

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist
I love giving my clients an hour to just show up, be themselves, and discuss their inner world. This is your time to focus on yourself. It is your time to focus on healing and change for the better. It is such an honor and joy to go through this process with clients.
Had a Negative Therapy Experience?
It is not uncommon to be turned off by the idea of therapy after having a negative experience. I understand that you have invested your time and energy only to be disappointed. Not all therapists have the same approach, so it's important to discuss with your therapist what you are looking for and if they can help. Let's discuss what worked for you and what did not so that we can ensure that this is a good fit.
How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist
I am a recovering perfectionist, overthinker, overachiever, and worrier. My own experiences with anxiety helped influence my desire to change careers and pursue a professional counseling license to help others. I utilize my knowledge and life experience to provide the best care and treatment possible to my clients. I also have personal experience with grief and loss and have gained a better perspective on helping clients.
