What's My Approach to Therapy?
Jennifer Valera, LCSW
I am deeply passionate about helping others live their most fulfilling lives. As a therapist, my mission is to provide the highest quality of care in a safe, compassionate, and nonjudgmental environment. I create a supportive space where clients feel heard, valued, and empowered, using a strengths-based approach that honors each person’s unique belief system, culture, values, and goals.
I believe in the power of collaboration, working side by side with my clients to address life’s challenges and foster personal growth. Drawing from a variety of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, I tailor each session to meet the individual needs of adults and couples, guiding them toward healing and their fullest potential.
I specialize in supporting adults and couples navigating challenges such as relationship concerns, depression, anxiety, trauma, posttraumatic stress (PTSD), stress management, low self-esteem, life transitions, family conflict, grief and loss, attention-deficit hyperactivity (ADHD), and anger management. I also have experience providing substance abuse counseling for adults. I earned both my undergraduate and master’s degrees in clinical social work from the University of Central Florida.
Outside of my work, I treasure time with my family—especially my little niece and nephew. I enjoy relaxing with a good documentary, true crime series, or movie, practicing yoga, sipping my daily coffee, and occasionally indulging in a well-earned nap.
