What's My Approach to Therapy?
Therapy with me is a conversation. It’s not about me having all the answers or telling you what to do. It’s about us sitting together, looking at what’s happening inside, and figuring out ways to make life feel more manageable. You can show up exactly as you are, no pretenses, no expectations. That’s how real progress happens.
We’ll also take a close look at the thoughts, feelings, and experiences you’ve been carrying, kind of like opening up a heavy backpack you’ve had for years. Inside, some things are meaningful and important, shaping who you are, and we can hold onto them because they still serve you. There are things you’ve outgrown, habits or beliefs that no longer fit, and we can leave those behind. And there are the things that are not helpful, the weights that just slow you down, that we can sort through and decide how to let go of. Some of these might be fears you’ve acted on without thinking, ways you’ve avoided things that feel uncomfortable, or beliefs that no longer match the person you are today. We’ll take it step by step, no pressure, no rush, just careful, steady attention. The goal is not to fix everything at once. It is to make space for clarity, honesty, and choice. By the end, you’ll have a clearer sense of what matters, what you want to keep, and what you are ready to set down.
