My Approach to Helping
Sometimes life feels difficult. Each of us, at some point in our lives, may feel depressed, anxious, overwhelmed or just "not ourselves". I know how scary and weird it can feel to ask a stranger for help, especially when you are feeling vulnerable, but this is the first step to feeling better! People can and do change their lives, and therapy can make that change happen.
Do you ever feel that the person you are inside is different than the person others see? Do you feel low and/or worried? I can help you to feel less alone, and help you to feel more fulfilled in life. Whatever feelings you are experiencing, we can work together to gain an in-depth understanding of you and what "makes you tick", so that you can begin to effect change for the better. I believe that we are a team, collaborating in understanding your own unique struggles, as well as your own unique strengths and resiliencies. As we work together in understanding you, I will provide you with warmth, understanding, confidentiality, and compassion, in an atmosphere of freedom and nonjudgement. Through our discussions about your present as well as your past, you will be empowered to create meaningful and long lasting change for yourself.
Your goals will drive our work. But I have a goal too. That goal is to help you to feel better and to help you develop a greater capacity to enjoy and find meaning in your relationships, your work, and your daily life.
