My Approach to Helping

I am a psychiatrist who primarily uses talk therapy to treat individuals. I have specialized training in child and adolescent work, and see children and adolescents as well as young adults for treatment. I also work with couples and families. There are multiple types of therapy which can be used, depending on the treatment goals of the patient, including psychodynamic psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, supportive therapy, interpersonal therapy, and person-centered psychotherapy.

My ideal client would wish to use talk therapy to improve their general well-being and daily functioning. They may need help understanding their emotions and how they function on their own and within relationships.

My specialty in psychiatry and years of experience allow me to offer multiple potential treatment modalities for my clients who may present with many different types of mental health challenges.

There is no reason to suffer without reaching out to someone for help. Please contact me or another mental health professional if you are sad, anxious, having difficulties with your relationships, or are dissatisfied with how things are going in your life. Mental health is equally important as physical health and is key to overall well-being.

More Info About My Practice

I am a psychiatrist with specialty training in child and adolescent psychiatry who has studied telepsychiatry as part of my master's degree. Telepsychiatry is the use of technology to treat people remotely. This means that I offer talk therapy via teleconference for those who may need help but have medical or other difficulties which prevent them from traveling to get in-person psychotherapy. Obviously in these times, many clients are opting for virtual treatment.

I also have an office for in-person treatment in Brooklyn Heights, NY which is a solo private practice. I treat children, adolescents, young adults, families, and couples using talk therapy of various types. While I do not participate with any insurance plans on their provider panels, it is my hope that I am still accessible to many as my fee is relatively low for the NYC geographic area.

My Role as a Therapist

My role as a therapist is to help diagnose and treat mental health disorders. My goal is to improve the overall functioning of my clients. The therapeutic relationship is built on trust and confidentiality. I have the utmost respect for any person I treat, and I conduct myself with warmth and integrity.
