Roslyn, formerly known as Hempstead Harbor, is a village in Nassau County, New York. Around 2,900 people live in the village of Roslyn. Ninety-five percent of these residents are American citizens.

Mental Health in Roslyn

In 2016, Nassau County began offering Mental Health First Aid training to school teachers and administrators, police officers, and other first responders. The training program was prompted by the increasing number of people with mental health and substance abuse issues in the county.

The 8-hour mental health training program is designed to help participants identify individuals with mental health challenges. Participants are taught how to interact effectively with such individuals and how to motivate them to seek appropriate treatment. The program curriculum was developed by the National Council for Behavioral Health.
