At A Balanced Perspective LLC, we believe healing happens through consistent, ethical, and compassionate care. We serve adolescents, teens, youth, and adults through virtual and in-person services, offering integrated behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment grounded in trauma-informed practice. As a CARF-accredited provider, our work reflects established standards of quality, safety, and accountability. We support individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use challenges, major life transitions, as well as other behavioral health concerns. Additionally, we support those who are highly capable, driven, and accustomed to putting others first. Our clinicians understand that people are shaped not only by symptoms, but by systems, families, communities, responsibilities, and lived experiences. By integrating community-based care with clinical treatment, we help clients move toward sustainable healing and improved functioning. Reaching out for support can feel daunting. Our role is to provide a steady, respectful space where change can unfold at a pace that feels manageable and supported.
I believe every individual has their own strength and weaknesses. It is my hope to provide a safe and secure environment in which people can explore their emotions and reach their personal goals to find happiness. In my experience having safe and secure connection with the therapist allows individuals to truly work on their inner feelings and achieve progress.
If someone is struggling with today's news and events, surviving a difficult upbringing, or wrestling with issues of identity, the best thing they can do for themselves is to find that safe, affirming space that allows them to speak freely without fear of judgement. My goal is to provide the emotional, physical, and affirming space for that very thing to happen. My clientele consists of students, mental health professionals, veterans, seniors, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community. I hold master's degrees in trauma informed counseling and the arts. Sometimes individuals have a block and the words are difficult to find. A more creative process can often reveal nonverbal cues and metaphors that can deepen understanding and healing. I help clients use imagery, symbolism, and creative expression to uncover meaning and insight. I currently work with individuals ages 8 and up, I have worked with anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, grief and loss, life transitions, and trauma-related issues. I bring creativity, compassion, warmth, and a genuine desire to provide affirmation, and occasionally humor to foster a safe, affirming, and empowering environment.

Hi there. Glad you stopped by! I really love the work that I do, and I’m very lucky to get to meet people in moments of vulnerability. Over the years, I’ve worked with people going through depression, anxiety, trauma, as well as grief and loss. My particular niche is working alongside men individually, who often carry a significant internal burden that they may rarely talk about, or even have words for. Therapy can provide a space to put some of that weight down, make sense of it, and learn how to express what is really going on beneath the surface. I also very much enjoy working with couples. Having myself been married since 2015, my own relationship has taught me a great deal about communication, vulnerability, conflict, and the work it takes to build a lasting relationship. Those experiences led me to embrace the Gottman Method, a therapeutic orientation that focuses heavily on intentionality.
These are 6 areas of therapy that I'm passionate about and in which I specialize. My counseling style is active, engaging and collaborative, using an approach that integrates proven therapeutic concepts and techniques. My graduate degree in Counseling is from Johns Hopkins University. I am a licensed professional counselor in the states of Maryland and Pennsylvania, a Nationally-Certified Counselor and a Board Approved Supervisor in Maryland. I am also a member of the Licensed Clinical Professional Counselors of Maryland. My continuing education includes certifications in couples work, trauma and supervision. To make sure we're a good fit for each other, please email me or visit my website to schedule a free phone consultation. I’m a clinical psychologist specializing in insight-oriented therapy that helps you understand your symptoms and experiences to inform your direction in life. I do this by listening and helping you put your feelings into words. In the initial interview, we will try to understand why you are looking for therapy now and what your personal and therapeutic goals are. The people I work with tend to struggle with mood disorders, relationship issues, low self-esteem, and difficulty managing strong feelings. Please call to schedule a consultation, either in person or virtually.
My approach to therapy and coaching is rooted in curiosity, courage, and compassion. I help clients uncover limiting inner beliefs about themselves and explore their emotional patterns. I am interested in empowering individuals with insights, intentionality, and tools to help create more productive narratives—whether in their careers, relationships, or personal lives. I use my training in counseling psychology, clinical social work, and master certified professional coaching as a stepping stone toward emotional growth.
