  • Chesna KlimekChesna Klimek, MA   Editor in Chief and Education Director

Chesna has been with GoodTherapy.org since the company's formative years. She brings her interest and understanding of human psychology and communication to her work as chief editor and education director. In this role, Chesna collaborates with GoodTherapy.org's dedicated team to ensure that the site offers helpful information and resources to people interested in therapy and mental health, as well as quality continuing education events for all therapist members. Paramount to Chesna's work is a desire to uphold the vision of GoodTherapy.org.

Raised by two public school teachers, Chesna appreciates the value of a good education and attributes many of the skills she brings to the team to her academic experiences. In 2012, Chesna completed a Master in Counseling Psychology program, including a 700-plus-hour clinical internship providing direct therapy services to children and families in her community. Prior to that, Chesna graduated magna cum laude from Western Washington University with a bachelor's degree in communication (minor in English). Preceding her studies in the humanities, she earned an associate's degree in business.

A longtime equestrian, Chesna enjoys caring for, training, and competing her four horses, as well as helping others to improve the partnerships they have with their horses. An outdoorsperson at heart, Chesna delights in the daily aspects of farm living, as well as reading, writing, and traveling. She is sometimes referred to around the office as "the grammar police."

  • David AkeDavid Ake   Editor

Dave left the palm trees and blazing temperatures of Southern California to join the GoodTherapy.org team in the summer of 2014. He is a writer, editor, SEO ninja, and a former tank gunner.

Dave joined the Army after high school and served four years as an M1A1 Abrams Main Battle Tank crew member. He was stationed in Germany and spent a year deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom II.

After his service in the military, Dave worked as a newspaper editor and reporter before going back to school full time at Ball State University to double major in journalism and political science. After graduation, he left Indiana to begin his career in Southern California, where he spent a year and a half as a content developer for a website design company. Upon relocating to Olympia, Washington, Dave found GoodTherapy.org and is excited to bring a blend of technical and creative skills to the team.

When time allows, Dave loves hiking and being outdoors. He's into almost anything that involves a challenging adventure, open sky, and at least a slight risk of personal injury.

  • Rob WiemanRob Wieman   Editor

Rob brings a wealth of multimedia experience to his role as managing editor at GoodTherapy.org, where he collaborates with experts in the field of psychology to develop authoritative, quality content. During a publishing career spanning 15 years—including four years each at The Miami (Florida) Herald and The (Tacoma, Washington) News Tribune—he was a reporter, copy editor, designer, web content producer, and editorial team leader, often concurrently. He left the newspaper industry in 2008, doing consulting work and serving as marketing director of a nonprofit for at-risk youth before joining our team in 2012.

A proud Coug, Rob holds a bachelor's degree in communication (with a minor in criminal justice) from Washington State University, where he received the school's Achievement in Journalism Award. Despite growing up in Seahawks country, and despite chowing down on all-you-can-eat Super Bowl XLVIII crow, he's an unapologetic Denver Broncos fan. He's also a news junkie, gym rat, and avid blogger who enjoys meandering road trips, all things outdoors, pre-Y2K music, tear-jerkers, documentaries, and the adorable antics of his two rescue cats/hairball cannons.

  • Teri HoskinsTeri Hoskins   Contributing Education Coordinator
