I'm very casual, and can be pretty direct. I feel i'm more of a relational therapist, and things get done in a safe space with no judgement.
I'd like to offer you a warm welcome to Unstuck Therapy, where I specialize in working with LGBTQ+ individuals and men's issues. I know that life's challenges can often get in our way, causing us to get stuck in our relationships, our jobs, our choices, and even our own heads. However, I also know that each of us has the ability to live a fulfilling and meaningful life. I have had the privilege of helping people find joy and contentment by providing a safe, accepting, and nonjudgmental therapeutic space. I am happy to provide you with the tools that can help you get unstuck. Please don't hesitate to be in touch. I'm here to help.
Do you often struggle in your relationships, whether it be with family members, romantic partners, or friends? Are you an overwhelmed parent at a loss for how to care for both your child and yourself? Do you find it challenging to set boundaries and ask for what you need? Maybe you feel stuck, anxious, and burdened by past events. If your goal is to become your most authentic self, increase feelings of self-worth, discover your inner resources, and strengthen your relationships, then I can help! I primarily draw from experiential approaches, including Internal Family Systems (parts work), somatic experiencing, and emotionally focused therapy. I also incorporate narrative therapy to help you explore the stories that have shaped you—and consider how you might begin to re-author them in ways that align with your growth. I believe there is an inner child in all of us urging us to heal the relationship between our mind and body, and therapy is a place we can explore this together. If you are looking for support for yourself, your teenager, your relationship, and/or your family, then let's connect. You are deserving of deep healing.
I hold a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and specialize in somatic psychotherapy, grief work, and relationship therapy, offering both in-person and online sessions. You may be arriving here feeling burned out, overwhelmed, untethered, or caught in something that keeps repeating no matter how much insight you have. Maybe you are grieving, moving through a faith transition, carrying abandonment wounds, adjusting to pregnancy or postpartum, or finding that your relationships are asking more of you than you know how to give right now. Often, people come seeking therapy because something in them knows they cannot keep carrying their pain the same way. I want therapy to be a place where you do not have to perform wellness, explain yourself away, or rush toward resolution before something has been understood. I see people as beautifully complex and I do not believe our struggles exist in isolation. The pain we carry is shaped through relationships, family systems, culture, survival and the larger worlds we have had to adapt to. Because of that, I respect both your inner life and the context surrounding it. My work is rooted in a willingness to go there with people into grief, contradiction, conflict, identity, longing and the truths that often live underneath adaptation. Together, we might slow down, listen to what your symptoms, patterns, or protective strategies are trying to hold and notice what is happening in the room between us. We may talk, track sensation, use metaphor, or reflect on past experiences. My hope is that therapy becomes a space where more of you can come into view, not just the parts that have learned how to get by. I also provide relationship therapy and couples counseling for partners who want to interrupt painful patterns and strengthen their foundation. Throughout couples therapy, I help each person begin to name the dynamic underneath the dynamic: what keeps happening, what it may be protecting, how it was formed, and what is needed now to create something different. I’m interested in helping you understand the pattern clearly enough that you can begin relating to it rather than getting stuck in the same cycles of hurt and disconnection. My thesis explored the lived experience of childhood abandonment and how early relational ruptures can shape identity, embodiment and meaning-making. My work is also informed by depth psychology, mythology, anthropology, ecology and the expressive arts. I became a therapist because I believe the most difficult and unresolved parts of life are often where the most important things are waiting—not because pain is beautiful, but because what has been buried, fragmented, or protected often carries its own intelligence. My role is to help create the conditions where something more honest, connected, and sustaining can begin to emerge.
I believe in helping you develop practical skills to use in real life, so you feel more confidence and ease in day-to-day interactions. Insight is valuable, but there's more to therapy than understanding your past and yourself. In developing skills like self-compassion, you can learn to be kinder to yourself when things don't go perfectly, which can reduce anxiety. In learning how to self-regulate, you can be more authentic and assertive in your communication with others, which can lead to less people-pleasing, healthier boundaries, or greater fulfillment in relationships. These are just a few of the skills that I help clients develop in therapy, in both individual and couple work. If you're motivated to make real change, contact me for a free initial phone consultation. Or visit my website for more details about my therapy practice.
Accepting New Clients. I'm a relationship therapist who partners with couples, families, and individuals to help them heal from traumas and repair attachment wounds. Together, we'll work on strengthening your relationship with yourself and the people who matter most to you. I believe in showing up authentically, which means I'll communicate directly and empathetically with you. If you appreciate honesty and aren't afraid of being challenged in a supportive way, we'll probably work well together. I'm genuinely excited to work with people who are brave enough to seek change and open to discovering new ways of being in relationships. You don't need to have all the answers or say everything perfectly, just show up as you are. I create a safe, inclusive space where you can talk openly about whatever you're facing, whether it's current struggles or things from your past. I draw on training in Attachment Theory, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), the Gottman Method, EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and other approaches to tailor treatment to what you need. I am LGBTQ+ affirming and trauma-informed. I also bring plenty of life experience to our work together. I've been through my own challenges and found healing through therapy, which gives me genuine empathy for what you're going through. I approach every client without judgment and with deep understanding. Working together will give you the opportunity to understand yourself more deeply and strengthen the relationships that shape your life. You don't have to do this alone. Let's navigate it together.
