My Approach to Helping
As a Marriage and Family therapist I consider your whole experience, interpersonally and within the context of the relationships that you participate in (family-of-origin, romantic and marital relationships, friendships, children, etc.). I also consider the mind-body-spirit connection. My style is collaborative and conversational and I expect to work together with you to co-create therapy goals and to increase awareness and consciousness about how you have lived thusfar and how you wish to transform your life. I look forward to working together and would be honored to be invited on your journey towards healing and living the life that you want and deserve!

More Info About My Practice
I also utilize the valuable tool of hypnotherapy in my practice. This tool allows you to go deeper in your therapy work and bypass conscious blocks to uncover and release emotions and experiences that get in the way of your health and happiness!

I do not take insurance, but assist you with processing your own claims. Fees are based on an hourly rate of $100. The first session is 1 1/2 hours ($150). After that, talk sessions are 1 hour each and hypnotherapy is 2 hours. Feel free to visit my website for much more information about my practice.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

I particularly enjoy working with people who are currently going through divorce. I enjoy assisting individuals who are faced with the challenges of this process and empowering them to rebuild their lives and walk forward in dignity, increased personal power, and clarity about what they want from life with goals for how to create what they want. As a marriage and family therapist, unfortunately, many people do not enter couple's therapy until their marriage is over. So the "marital therapy" becomes more about how to seperate than how to stay together. Those conversations are deeply painful and complex and liberating all at the same time. Thus, I have gained much experience with this chapter in people's lives and feel well equipped to help individuals and couples with all areas of this process.

My Role as a Therapist

My role as a therapist is one of guide, facilitator, co-creator, collaborator, consultant, referral source, recommender of books and exercises to assist your therapy process, and as educator. I play many roles, but all roles serve to guide you toward healing, empowerment, consciousness, and growth. I do not see myself as an expert or as an advice dealer. We work together to identify what serves you and release what does not. My client's teach me as much as I teach them and I enjoying learning every day. I do have specific training in the area of Marriage and Family Therapy and I use that knowledge to help guide you, through gentle questions and inquiries, to come to understand yourself and your experience more clearly, but the therapy is client-directed. In other words, each individual, couple, or family is in charge of how often they come to therapy, what we work on, who attends the sessions, what the focus of the therapy will be, and when therapy ends.
