My Approach to Helping
My belief about therapy is that the journey towards emotional health is one in which I work together with people to assist them in the process of self discovery, understanding and ultimately acceptance of all aspects of their true selves. I truly believe that this journey allows people to begin to live a more creative, balanced and fulfilling life. I love my job because it is rewarding to see the growth people make once they realize they possess the internal resources to make these changes. It is an honor and a privilege when people allow me to travel along as a guide as they embark on their personal and courageous journey. Dr. Wilson uses EMDR, mindfulness, meditation, deep breathing, relaxation training and guided imagery visualization as tools in therapy. Dr. Wilson's approach to the therapy relationship is collaborative in that she acknowledges, honors, and embraces the unique skills and strengths each person brings to the therapy process.
