Seeking support from a therapist may be uncomfortable, and perhaps even intimidating. With this in mind, my desire is to provide clear answers to any questions or concerns you may have about therapy. This information will help you to figure out if therapy is right for you.
Treatment is most effective when you work with a therapist who is warm, genuine, knowledgeable, and supportive. I offer free 20 minute appointments where we can meet and discuss the type of assistance you need, my counseling style, and if I am the type of therapist you are likely to form a connection with. If not, I am happy to help you find someone who is!
The conversations that now occur in a therapist's office previously took place over tea during earlier times. I remember my grandparents and their friends had similar discussions when I was a child. In fact, my family has long solved problems with simple chats over tea, regardless of how intense the sadness, tension, or stress may have been.
Having tea together is ideal for kindling moments of joy, laughter, healing, realization, and emotional connection. You may also benefit from similar conversations with the people you care about. I offer a professional and unbiased ear if you need additional help, and I am always available for a cup of tea.

More Info About My Practice
In my practice I draw from several modalities including acceptance and commitment therapy, Gottman informed method for couples counseling, and depth psychology.
Acceptance and commitment therapy is an empirically based intervention that uses acceptance and mindfulness principles along with commitment and behavior change. The intention is to live a life in which we are fully in contact with the present moment and moving towards our chosen values.
Gottman informed therapy is a scientifically based therapy derived from over forty years of research. It focuses on rebuilding relationships by working towards greater understanding, connection and intimacy.
I also draw from depth psychology, in particular the use and power of stories and archetypes in our lives. The stories that we tell of our lives while being re-told can sometimes open up new perspectives that we hadn't seen before - altering our relationship to the story. From our own stories we can gain strength and inspiration for the next chapter.
