Are you:
-Feeling anxious or stressed out?
-Blaming or upset with yourself?
-Having a hard time with relationships?

I understand how hard it is to have difficult emotions or pain in a culture that encourages you to not talk about them. You are not alone. The truth is that we all grow when we are vulnerable and soft, which is why counseling can be so helpful.

When faced with stress, challenge, or change, it's natural to revert to old familiar ways of thinking and doing things that don't always help in the long run. I help clients identify what's not working for them and develop new ways of relating to themselves and the world so that they can learn from challenges, develop more flexibility to respond to stress and change, and live a life in line with their values.

How Psychotherapy Can Help

Counseling has many benefits that ripple out through a client's life. To mention a few:
-release of stress and tension,
-better coping when times are hard,
-improved relationships and communication,
-a greater sense of what you need and the ability to get it, and
-greater happiness and meaning in your life.
Realizing these benefits is largely based on your commitment to and energy for creating change in your life as well as working with someone you are comfortable with (see below).

On the Fence About Going to Therapy?

Realizing the benefits I mentioned above is also based on your relationship with your counselor/coach. It is important to work with a someone you feel comfortable with. You have the right to ask for a free consultation before beginning your work (though not all practitioners offer free initial consultations, it's ok to ask). And it is one I encourage all prospective clients to exercise. It can help you get clear about what you need from a counselor/coach and, if you are on the fence, it can help you get clearer about whether or not it is right for you.

I offer a free consultation for both coaching and counseling clients so you can ask any questions you may have and get a sense of what it would be like to to work with me. If you are not sure about going into therapy, we can talk about that too. I am very happy to have a consultation that gets you closer to what you are looking for, even if it is not with me.
