In my office you will find a safe, nonjudgmental environment to talk about the issues that bring you to therapy. Most people need help at some time in their life, its so much a part of being human. Vulnerabilities are honored so that whatever needs to be discussed is done so with respect and compassion.
I work with couples, families and individuals. Relationships are my particular specialty. We learn who we are in the context of other people. Our relationships with our parents, spouses or partners and friends can determine the level of happiness that we achieve. I can help couples and families improve and strengthen those important bonds.
I offer therapy to those in the community who are uninsured or underinsured. Families or individuals who are experiencing the break up of a relationship or marriage are of special interest. My fee is a flat fee of $155.00 per session.
Taking the first step toward getting help is often the most difficult

Insurance - I do not accept insurance. However, Your insurance carrier will often pay for
out-of-network providers. Please check with your plan to see if they reimburse for an LMFT (Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist). I can provide you with a monthly receipt of services (Superbill) to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Your company may or may not pay for out of network services.
Parking is easy at my office. Just tell the parking attendant that you are there to see me, and he will find a parking space for you at a nominal fee.
What Makes up a Problem?
The word communication is one that is used often as the culprit of problems between couples and families. However, few people know how to successfully communicate with the person they love. So often communication is taken to mean that we are "brutally honest". However, healthy communication calls for "respectful and gentle honesty" with those we love. In couple's therapy you and your partner will learn to be lovingly honest. People frequently cannot
distinguish between being listened to and being loved. In couples therapy we will learn how to listen, join and "not fix". We will practice what works between the two of you and build on your strengths. We will also process and change the behaviors that cause pain and ultimately led to distance.
The truth is that even no communication is communicating. However, it often means that it feels unsafe to speak with your partner so nothing at all is said. Learn to keep each other safe and you and your partner will grow closer and have a more meaningful relationship.

Groups I Work With
My passion is families and couples. So often we are hurt by or hurt those people that we love the most. No matter how long we have known our partners or family members, there is always more to know and issues to understand more deeply. I can help with those conversations. Healthy relationships are the foundation of a happier and more content life. However achieving those types of relationships may require professional help. There are tools that can be learned.
If your partner or your family has issues that are getting in the way of closeness, give me a call. Together we can talk about those subjects that are so difficult to discuss at home.
As the well-known Psychologist Bruno Belteheim stated so well, "What you cannot put into words you cannot put to rest".
