My Approach to Helping
My approach is integrative, intersectional, developmental, and contextual with a basic belief in the value of connection and the power of possibility. My work pulls from Intersectionality, Queer Theory, Relational-Cultural, Relational Science, and Feminist principles, focusing on therapy relationships being grounded in mutual respect and a sense of shared purpose that provides movement toward clarity, growth, and potential. I understand that we are heavily shaped by our relationships, family experiences, and positionality in the social world with regard to race, culture, class, gender identity, sexuality, etc. My practice is currently relationship-focused and I've deepened my lens to include training in the Developmental Model of Couples Therapy, in addition to past experience with Psychobiological Approach to Couples Therapy (PACT), Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, IMAGO, and Gottman Method. I only work with couples or relationship structures at this time and I offer both in-person & online therapy options!
