My Approach to Helping

It is not easy to initiate and maintain change; it can be challenging; it can be painful, and it takes courage. You need the motivation and the determination to bring change about. I will work with you, in a collaborative effort, to increase motivation and improve your emotional state. My main objective is to provide you with a validating, empathetic, and supportive environment, an environment where you can acquire the tools necessary to achieve and maintain your desired goals.

I have over a decade of experience in the field of mental health. I have helped families, teens, children, and individuals address anxiety, depression, and other behavioralemotional issues. I have extensive experience working with ADHD, bipolar disorder, depressive disorders, borderline personality disorder, other "Axis II" disorders, addictions, domestic violence issues, and trauma. If you are looking to improve the relationship with your teenager, or maybe just change your own outlook on your current stage in life, I am here to help.

More Info About My Practice

I have convenient weekday(Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri) hours(afternoon, evening), Saturday morning hours(9am - 1pm), and a sliding scale fee is available for those who qualify. If you have health insurance and would like to use your behavioral health benefit, I am on the panels for Aetna, Cigna, American Republic, and several others. If you would like to use your EAP benefit, I am approved under Anthem EAP, Aetna EAP, Cigna EAP, and a few more.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

I am adept at helping people who have experienced trauma; having worked in the field of domestic violence and sexual assault for nearly six years, I was able to educate myself on the dynamics of healthy and unhealthy relationships and feel adequately knowledgeable in those areas. However, trauma goes beyond relationships, which is why I have also been trained on Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, a very effective method of treating trauma-based symptoms and other afflictions.
In addition, I have been extensively trained, 148hrs, by Behavioral-Tech-LLC on DBT(Dialectical Behavior Therapy), which is a very effective mode of therapy used to treat a variety of personality disorders, such as Borderline Personality Disorder, and a myriad of other behavioralemotional conditions.
