Plunging in to the "tough stuff", with compassion and curiosity, and moving forward a tolerable pace can begin to bring some relief to the stress and pressure of holding things in. As a psychotherapist, I help adults and couples find ways to move through challenging territory, exploring the things they might have lost, feared, ignored or forgotten...with the goal of finding change and self-awareness.

Psychotherapy is a dynamic, collaborative process that can help unravel and change undesired, confusing, or painful emotions and move toward living a more satisfying and balanced life. It's a great tool to spark those parts of ourselves that have gone unattended and, likewise, helping to calm those areas that are harder to manage.

Individuals challenged with anxiety, trauma, depression, stress and family, relationship, or parenting issues usually seek me out. My open, authentic and relaxed style helps people feel supported and at ease in sessions.

Therapy is really about building a new, present-focused relationship for exploring thoughts, feelings and memories in a safe, collaborative space that facilitates challenge, empathy, and change. It is a challenging and rewarding process, for both therapist and client.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

I find working with couples particularly rewarding. The process is really triple-fold, I have the opportunity help foster their growth as a couple while also helping them grow and heal as two unique individuals at the same time.

Also, through my years as a SIMS provider working with Austin area musicians, I have grown to really enjoy working with musicians, artists and other creative folks. Of course many issues facing individuals in creative fields are universal (trauma, depression, anxiety) are not uncommon, there are some specific challenges that are unique to individuals in these occupations such as self-esteem struggles, issues around blocks and productivity, and the impact of one's art on relationships.
